markets

Today I woke up at the crack of dawn to pay off some much beloved car debts, giving up a Saturday night I probably couldn't afford anyway. Not making as much as I had hoped for, as my customers mainly consisted of Asian people who wouldn't pay more than 50c and older ladies who haggled my cheap prices down even more. Disappointed with my result I have decided to fall back on good old eBay. Here are some photos of my stall and some items for sale on eBay (link below).

lace skirt DIY

I thought I would get some practice working with lace fabrics, so I made a white lace skirt. Basically all you need is a white pencil skirt (I got mine from the op shop for about $4), some lace fabric or a white lace tablecloth which is what I used. You can find these materials at craft stores or op shops, but make sure it has a nice edge to give the skirt a nice trim.

Adjust the skirt to whatever length you would like it, taking up a hem is quite simple and on a skirt like this the hem doesn't have to be perfect as you won't see it under the lace.

Position the lace to how you would like it, if you want a longer or shorter trim you can adjust it yourself.
Once you have done this pin the lace to the skirt at the top.

You will also need to undo the sides of the skirt, you can use a pick which is available at most craft stores. position and pin the lace to the fabric to the sides and sew along the edging. Once each side has been sewn (don't sew the bottom) you can sew the skirt back together just by sewing along the line you unpicked.

This is the finished product, I apologise for the bad quality of the photos, I am investing in a good camera! I hope this was of help to someone.
